| Derby Fishing Company - Dated 1808 This historic document is an 19th Century ORIGINAL. Measures approx 6.5" long x 2.6" wide. Derby Fishing Co., was founded in 1807 and when started they did an extensive fishing business. The stock of the company was owned by several of the most eminent merchants in New Haven and Derby Connecticut. The bank note being offered here was issued in New York and hand signed and dated by the company's President.....Canfield Gillett and Secretary.... Sam Andrews in 1808. The face value of the note is Five-Dollars (quite a sum 202 years ago). A fantastic piece of ephemera to enhance any tackle collection. |
